Software Engineer — Lead Full Stack
AWS (Amazon Web Services)
- Led design and implementation of cloud-native services supporting AWS startup programs, architecting backend APIs and frontend applications with Java, React, TypeScript, and Next.js through production deployment.
- Led the MTurk automation effort for the credit application pipeline, creating, submitting, and tracking jobs in the AWS backend to approve clients for up to $100k in AWS credits.
- Implemented the OpenAPI spec for the org's REST API using the Smithy API language, generating schemas and type definitions for DynamoDB, Java, and TypeScript from each endpoint definition.
- Set up live 24/7 canary testing across my team's services — Playwright frontend tests and backend integration tests walking through multiple use cases per endpoint — catching breaking changes before real users.
- Built asynchronous backend workflows using SQS, SNS, and Kinesis to decouple service communication and improve reliability, and mentored junior engineers through design discussions and code reviews.

Rubrik
- Built features across a polyglot codebase (Java, Go, Scala, TypeScript, SQL) for Rubrik's SaaS data management platform serving large enterprise and government clients.
- Migrated a legacy Angular application to a modern codebase while maintaining backward compatibility, ramping quickly on unfamiliar frameworks and conventions.
- Created a standardized global modal library so any frontend developer could ship informational and form windows, priority-ranked so alerts, errors, and announcements never clutter the UI.
- Built global search across the application for SLAs, snapshots, and backup job history, with new GraphQL endpoints, global event listeners, keyboard shortcuts, and an LRU cache of recently viewed pages.
- Expanded the team's Python integration and unit testing suite with extensible mock components and mock data, raising the code coverage that protects every API on the site.

Freelance Software Engineer
Freelance
- Architected a cloud-native music catalog platform using Node.js, PostgreSQL, and streaming audio delivery, designing scalable backend services for media management and licensing compliance.
- Built real-time crypto trading dashboards and alert bots — price action, memecoin, and liquidity-migration alerts with wallet tracking — consuming REST APIs and PostgreSQL-backed data services.
- Mentored students and new-grad developers through contract-based projects across diverse client engagements.
- Earlier contracts: frontend work for a Hive-blockchain social network (React, React Redux, Tailwind, blockchain transactions) and a Ruby on Rails restaurant platform (authentication, onboarding, POST forms, database updates).

About
I’m a software engineer with 5+ years of experience designing APIs and shared services used across multiple teams and platforms. I’ve worked at Rubrik and AWS, where I architected backend services in Java, Node.js, TypeScript, and Go, and built frontend applications in React and Angular. My work centers on API design, testing, documentation, and close collaboration with product and design.
I started out teaching myself Python through data science and analysis projects while studying Business Administration. I then committed to full-time study to learn frontend development with React, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML. After contract and freelance work on small, nimble teams taking product features from 0 to 1, I landed my first full-time role at Rubrik, where I learned what it takes to build production software for an enterprise data platform.
At AWS, I led full-stack work on cloud-native services for startup customers and supported the growth team with marketing tools, internal services, and workflows that helped onboard more clients into the AWS ecosystem.
I care about shipping reliable software that other teams can build on, and about finding the UX that works best for the people using it.
